A Little Words About Us

BOKHABANCE CONCEPTS PROFILE

Our agenda at Bokhabane Concepts is to eradicate the somewhat belittling misconception  , ‘doing things the Sesotho way’ (ho etsa lintho Sesotho feela) attached to the seemingly low-quality execution of work by Basotho-owned businesses.

The inability to meet certain uncommunicated, untaught, unmonitored and undocumented  perceived  standards that are often foreign, misunderstood and misaligned to Lesotho’s academic institutions, has isolated Basotho organizations from competing on the same playing grounds with the Ivy League brands,  recognizable large corporates and ‘reputable’ businesses, that operate in Lesotho and utilise local resources, predominantly its people.

Research by Mercedes Benz’ German Initiative for Southern African Business (SAFRI) and the German Chamber of Commerce, in 1999, together with the Institute of Development Management (IDM Lesotho) in partnership with the Lesotho Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) and local Basotho consultants, indicated that businesses in Southern Africa were not sustainable due to the absence of business models, strategies, frameworks, structures, standard operating procedures and processes. This led to the collapse of many good ideas and entrepreneurial initiatives, not just in Lesotho, but across the SADC region.

In addition, the inability to separate business operations and finances, from family finances, as well as  untrained family members within family-owned businesses was a prohibiting factor to successful and sustainable black-owned enterprises.

Many SMEs have had  a vison, mission and values that have were expected to run the whole enterprise for years, without change and critical tools for good governance and operations.

Bokhabane Concepts is a Lesotho owned management consulting organisation that specialises in training and coaching individuals, groups and companies on Public Speaking & Presentation Skills, Service Excellence and Client Centricity, Organizational Culture & Communication Etiquette, Change Management and Service Process Mapping, amongst others, for success in business operations

It was founded against the backdrop of its founder’s previous work with numerous start-ups, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), as well as large organizations/corporations, and having first-hand experiences of the glaring gaps in process leadership, the absence of strategies, tools, documentation, and core organisational principles for operations, communication and service models.

In partnership with other thought leaders in the business development sphere, since its inception in 2014, Bokhabane Concepts has successfully trained professionals within various industries in Lesotho and across SADC, on the importance and development of business strategies, policies, frameworks, governance and compliance structures enhanced by good practices, organisational ethics, operational processes, organizational culture and service development, business communication, service excellence & client relations,, amongst numerous core business foundational requirements.
